Summer Intensives 2026

For nearly two decades, Coastal Dance Centre has proudly served the Grand Strand community and beyond, enriching the lives of thousands of students through exceptional dance training and performance opportunities. Our programs have helped launch the journeys of highly motivated dancers into pre-professional and professional careers with some of the world’s most prestigious dance schools and companies.

Recognized as one of the premier ballet training schools in South Carolina, Coastal Dance Centre is proud to be ranked among the Top 5% of more than 900 ballet academies in the United States. The distinction reflects our unwavering commitment to technical excellence, artistic development, and student success. Coastal Dance Centre is also home to the Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre (CYBT), its official performing company, which offers exceptional performance and pre-professional opportunities to dedicated young dancers.

Coastal Dance Centre and CYBT are proud to support dancers who strive for excellence and are committed to their artistic journey.

Why Choose Coastal Dance Centre’s Summer Intensives?
Coastal Dance Centre’s Summer Intensive Program is designed to offer focused, high-level training that supports each dancer’s ongoing development.

Our goals for the program include:

• Technical and Artistic Growth
To challenge dancers through intensive classical ballet training, strongly emphasizing refining technique, developing artistry, and building strength and discipline in preparation for the upcoming dance year.

• Comprehensive Training Curriculum
The program includes classes in Ballet Technique, Pointe (for Intermediate and Advanced students), Variations, Repertoire, and Stretch & Conditioning—ensuring a well-rounded approach to each dancer’s progress.

• Pathway to Advanced Programs & Performance Opportunities
Summer Intensive participation serves as a pathway for students aspiring to join Coastal Dance Centre’s Conservatory, Elite Conservatory Program, Competition Program, and the CYBT Performing Company Program. Intermediate/Advanced dancers will have the opportunity to learn variations and ensemble choreography while being observed for potential casting in CYBT’s The Nutcracker 2026 production.
