Bailey Wins 3rd Place at
Youth America Grand Prix
New York Finals!
CDC Newsletter, May 1, 2007 ---Youth America Grand Prix, the most prestigious international student ballet and
contemporary competition in the world just concluded its finals from April 27-May 1st in New York City. Coastal
Dance Centre’s lone entry, Bailey Moon, 14 years old, the son of Keith and Jane Moon, won 3rd place in the Junior
Male Category (for ages 12-14 years old). The Junior Category had more than a hundred finalists. When the top 12
Junior finalists were called, 7 male finalists (Bailey being one of them) and 5 female finalists emerged .

Added to this 3rd place honor, Bailey was awarded scholarship offers from two of the world’s most prominent dance
schools. The first scholarship award is a summer scholarship to Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, Canada
and the other award is the summer scholarship to the Royal Ballet School in London, England.

With the YAGP scholarship offers to study abroad, Bailey has accepted the scholarship offer from the National Ballet
School of Canada and has decided to defer going to the Royal Ballet School for next year. Bailey will leave for
Toronto in July. The Boston Ballet School scholarship awarded to him when he competed in the semi-final round will
have to be deferred too, for the meantime.

Coastal Dance Centre is extremely proud and honored to have this opportunity for world renowned dance experts
to recognize Bailey’s artistic potential and talent. Bailey competed with the best students who came from Japan,
Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, Canada, France, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Korea, China, Mongolia and from all over the
United States.

Dance teachers, parents and students at the competition have shared the view that the standard and caliber of this
competition surpasses the level of even some of the international ballet competitions that is open for older and even
professional dance competitors. The talent that was witnessed in this most recent competition and in the previous
years have been remarkably amazing and awesome which is why we are just so proud of Bailey’s achievement.
Lots of hard work, discipline and focus paid off for Bailey. Lest we forget, we would like to acknowledge the love,
support, understanding and sacrifices of everyone who are part of Bailey’s success. The whole Coastal Dance
Centre family is just thrilled and happy for Bailey.
