June 18, 2007 – Murrells Inlet, SC – Four local dancers, students of Coastal Dance Centre in Murrells Inlet, have
been awarded scholarships and/or have been accepted to several of the nation’s most prestigious dance schools.

— Emily Kenny, a senior at Waccamaw High School, was recently accepted to the North Carolina School of the Arts
in Winston Salem. This School is considered one of the most reputable art schools in the country. Students undergo
an intense audition and interview process, and Emily is one of only fifteen students in the nation to achieve this
honor.
— Ryann DuRant, winner of numerous dance awards and a graduating senior at Myrtle Beach High, was named the
recipient of the Wake Forest University Presidential Scholarship for Distinguished Achievement in dance. Ryann will
join the Wake Forest class of 2011 this fall. She is the reigning Miss Myrtle Beach High School and a consistent high
achiever in her academic studies.
— Bailey Moon, a home-schooled eighth grader who recently placed third in the Youth America Grand Prix – the most
prestigious student ballet competition in the world – has accepted an offer to study in Toronto this summer at the
National Ballet School of Canada. He previously received scholarship offers from the Boston Ballet School, the
Washington Ballet School, the Jackie Kennedy Onassis School, Harid Conservatory and the Royal Ballet School in
London, England. He has deferred scholarships to Boston and London until 2008.
— Lucy Warner, another home-schooled eighth grader, has been accepted to the South Carolina Governor’s School
for the Arts and the Humanities in Greenville, SC for the 2007/2008 school year. Lucy qualified for the program
because of her academic work as well as her talent in dance.

“The hard work, good work ethic, discipline and determination of these students make them excellent role models for
their peers and fellow students,” said Liza Mata, Director of Coastal Dance Centre. “We are so proud of their
successes, and we have every expectation each and every one will continue to excel – in dance and in life.”
